thanks a lot!
the 50mm lens is pretty much always on there :) probably f1.4 or 1.8
:iconsunshinerecorder:
the eos 20d, sorry for the reply delay.
:iconseafairy:
would you recommend the 1.4 rather than the 1.8? I do portraits alot, but not only..and I'd love to work well in low light

hmmm id buy the 1.8 first since its so "inexpensive" and use it for a while. THEN decide if you believe you need the extra halfstop of light.
:iconseafairy:
do you sometimes say you think you wouldn't have needed it? I also heard that 1.8 is less sharp btw...

i could live without it really. 100%. Specially when it comes to price.

it is true that is it SCIENTIFICALLY less sharp. But as artists... do we care? the difference is indiscernible if you ask me.

Heres a couple of links to portraits shot with the 1.8 version. :

[link] - note that in this one the focus point is on the sewer lid... (f1.8) just in case.

It's your choice :)

Thanks so very much for helping and answering all my questions..
hm...I think I'll go for the 1.8 then..it really is less expencive. Does it have an autofocus? And if so, is it very loud? And is manualfocus soft and easy to handle, or...?
